Guru and Karma are code names that hide certain drug dealers in Norway

Norwegian police have busted a large doping ring. Over 10 individuals connected with illicit operations were arrested. Six individuals were sentenced to imprisonment.
According to affirmations of the newspaper Dagens N?ringsliv (DN), the doping ring was established in Trondheim. DN provided own investigation connected with illicit sale of anabolic steroids in Norway. Police officers investigated the case.
It is suggested that a secret center is located in Trondheim. It controls illegal sale of doping drugs and money laundering.
The arrested individuals were linked with bodybuilding, fitness and health industries in Norway. Several persons were arrested at their homes; others – in business offices, car lots and tram stops.
Investigators suggest that certain persons are hidden by the names of Guru and Karma.
Robert Eilertsen belongs to those who have been arrested. He is a manager and editor of a fitness blog. He coached famous sportspersons within football, boxing, handball, etc.
It is supposed that Eilertsen and certain other individuals have provided dangerous doping drugs to Norwegian youth during numerous years.
About 60 police officers were implicated in raids. The raids caused 11 arrests.
Since the investigation continues, police officers say nothing about their further actions.
Norwegian customs officers and tax authorities assisted the investigation.
Numerous computers and several documents were confiscated during raids of homes, business officers, cars, etc.
Eilertsen and Gunnar Strand Jacobsen, another arrested individual, have denied their links with doping preparations. Jacobsen is the owner of Kaliber Gym in Trondheim, one of the most trusted gyms in Norway. Jacobsen was personal trainer of athletes that wined prizes. He coached athletes that attended to different sports. Jacobsen is claimed to be an experienced nutrition expert.
The raid was called “Operation Gilde”.
Eilertsen and Jacobsen are accused in sale of doping drugs and money laundering.

Spain’s police officers confiscated drugs, leaflets, packages, boxes, cars and properties from international drug ring

Spain’s policemen arrested Scott Boote, a person, who was implicated in illicit actions related to an international drug ring producing stimulants that increase sexual desire. Huge quantities of medications were confiscated by police. It was estimated the street value of these drugs. It was confirmed that it was almost ?3 million. A citizen of the UK, a 72-year-old man from Liverpool, was also questioned. According to affirmations of police officers, these two persons manufactured 8 new sexual stimulants and sold them via internet without providing medical controls. Six other persons were also questioned during this investigation. Investigators affirmed that the individuals who were involved in this illicit drug ring got vehicles and another property due to distribution of illegal sexual medications. Several bank accounts were blocked by police officers. More than 100,000 dosages of anabolic steroids, properties and vehicles were confiscated.
A spokesperson for Spanish police claimed that all members of the drug ring lived quite luxuriously. They possess numerous properties and luxury cars. They purchased properties abroad in order to hide the illicit business. Investigators defined that the ring sold sex stimulants for both men and women. The products were advertised on internet. Individuals from around the world could buy the products. Thus, people from the USA, the UK, Thailand, Malaysia, etc. were customers that acquired drugs from this ring. Three factories functioned in Costa del Sol. Police officers suggest that those who were manufacturing the medicines didn’t have proper knowledge for this purpose. According to them, the persons who were involved in the drug ring managed also legal business in order to hide the illegal one. They tried to give legitimate appearance to illicit operations. Several commercial companies were managed by these persons in order to mask the profits obtained due to illegal sale of sex stimulants.
Boxes which had to be sent to clients were also found by police officers. Anabolic steroids were also found and seized by law enforcement officers. Packages, labels and leaflets were also found in possession of the arrested persons.

Steroid excuse remains to be suitable method to prevent imprisonment in Britain

Although it is not yet proven scientifically whether “roid rage” is an unwanted response of steroids, these products are demonized for several criminal actions quite frequently.
Michael Barton, a young person from Britain, hit a Ford Fiesta, while he was driving his Volkswagen Golf. The driver of Ford Fiesta was Paul Gard. Barton had overtaken Paul Gard. But then he had to pull back in front of Paul Gard, since another vehicle was driving the other way. Paul Gard flashed him. Thus, he had to brake suddenly. Barton became raging, stopped his car, broke the wing mirror of Gard’s Ford Fiesta and hit Gard in the face. Then Gard’s wife called police. While she was calling, Barton drove off calmly.
Michael Barton, a 21-year-old person that has a kid of two years old, administers steroids for bulking effects. Thus, it has been confirmed that these drugs affected his behavior. The defense attorney for this young person confirmed that steroids influenced on temperament of his client, since these preparations increased his levels of testosterone.
Previously Michael Barton was convicted for certain crimes, including domestic violence. Last year this young person pleaded guilty to an assault, criminal damage and driving incautiously due to his anger following assaults.
The judge Patrick Hooton confirmed that he was not sure that steroids were responsible for the situation. But he noted that it was completely mad to get angry and hit a person in the face only because he flashed him. The judge claimed that Barton’s behavior was very disgraceful and he said: “you ought to go to prison”.
Thus, this young person was given 6-month jail sentence suspended for a year; he was also enforced to pay 500 dollars in compensation and ?277 for damage of Paul Gard’s Ford Fiesta.

Consumption of green tea represents effective way of cheating for steroid users

Athletes become more and more sophisticated in steroid use. They find new methods to hide their administration of forbidden medications. Some sportspersons take time to study experts’ affirmations that could help them to hide that they dope. Today a method has been discovered: sportspeople can mask application of testosterone by drinking of green tea.
Testosterone represents a hormone which is produced in body naturally. So, it can be difficult for anti-doping agencies to define that a sportsperson has used testosterone. T: E ratio testing is ordinarily used by anti-doping organizations. Such tests may display unusual ratio of testosterone to epitestosterone in urine. But it is not able to manifest difference between testosterone that has been secreted in body naturally and that introduced into body with the help of injections, gels, etc.
Declan Naughton and his colleagues at Kingston University ( London) have found that green tea has such compounds that are called “catechins”. They have ability to inhibit the enzyme UGT2B17. This enzyme induces attaching glucuronic acid to testosterone. If UGT2B17 is inhibited, less testosterone glucoronide is excreted in urine.
Catechins, the compounds that can mask application of testosterone, are contained in green and white tea. Such compounds are not in black tea.
Naughton and his colleagues have conducted several experiments. They confirm that a cup of strong green tea hides usage of testosterone.
Thus, those athletes who apply testosterone can reduce amounts of testosterone that are excreted in urine by consumption of green or white tea. Green or white tea is capable to block excretion of testosterone, enhancing circulating levels of this hormone.
The World Anti-Doping Agency was informed about the discovering by the experts. If this process occurs, it means that it is not worthy to apply urine tests. Blood tests must be performed for detection of testosterone use.
Olivier Rabin, the WADA’s expert, affirms that regular checks of blood steroids will be added. Everything will be done by anti-doping organizations in order to avoid fooling of urine tests.

Labels of bottles sent to Wim Vansevenant don’t correspond to contents

The case connected with Wim Vansevenant, a former Belgian rider, altered essentially. An analysis displayed that the doping drugs that were ordered by him didn’t contain the contents listed on the labels. The former Belgian rider was cheated by the company where he ordered the preparations.
Last year several packages sent to Wim Vansevenant by an Australian company were intercepted by customs officials. It was written on the intercepted bottles that they contained the doping drug TB-500. It represents a peptide hormone that can induce enhancing muscle strength and speed healing. The Belgian authorities started an investigation. It was believed that Wim Vansevenant supplied the Omega Pharma-Lotto team with doping products. This athlete rode professionally 10 years, from 1998 to 2008. Last 6 years of the career he was with this team.
An analysis of the bottles intercepted by customs showed that just amino acids were presented. Wim Vansevenant’s attorney claimed that the case had to be dropped. He explained that since the preparation was not linked with doping, the former sportsperson didn’t deserve to be punished.
The prosecutor’s spokesperson Johan Lescrauwaet affirmed that the contents didn’t correspond to the name of the preparation which was written on the label and to the statements of the former sportsperson.
Only amino acids were discovered in the bottles. No any doping drug. Thus, there is no any evidence that Wim Vansevenant provided doping medicines to other persons.
The hearing of the former Belgian professional rider was scheduled to be later.

Bruce Goldberger doesn’t support affirmations of federal prosecutors against Roger Clemens

Testimonies of the well-known toxicologist Bruce Goldberger will probably influence greatly on decision of the court in the case linked with Roger Clemens. Bruce Goldberger is the Professor of Pathology and Director of Toxicology at the University of Florida College of Medicine. This specialist testified on behalf of Roger Clemens. However he was called in order to replace Don Catlin, the director of the WADA UCLA Medicine, Goldberger’s testimonies didn’t correspond to those which are commonly presented by anti-doping organizations. This toxicologist testified on behalf of the accused sportsman.
Bruce Goldberger is known due to his appearing on various news programs. Even during such programs he doesn’t abstain from criticism. He criticized several anti-doping organizations, including the WADA.
Bruce Goldberger expressed critical words for federal prosecutors in the case connected with Roger Clemens. They based on “beer can evidence” provided by Brian McNamee to support that Roger Clemens administered steroids and HGH. Brian McNamee, the former personal trainer of this sportsman, presented a beer can containing utilized needles and syringes that had traces of such steroids, as Sustanon, Primobolan Depot and Deca Durabolin and were mixed allegedly with Clemens’ blood. McNamee was keeping the beer can over 6 years. Bruce Goldberger argued that such basis was not reasonable.
Bruce Goldberger confirmed that it was impossible to base on “beer can evidence”. He explained that the accusation couldn’t be proven because the theory of contamination could present.
So, Bruce Goldberger didn’t support the affirmations of the federal prosecutors. Earlier he also expressed criticism linked with evidence applied by some anti-doping agencies.
Some years ago Bruce Goldberger testified on behalf of the American cyclist Floyd Landis, when this sportsperson appealed positives for steroids. A WADA-accredited lab situated in France discovered traces of exogenous testosterone; T: E ratio and carbon isotope ratio tests were applied by the lab. Bruce Goldberger expressed similar words and criticism during the appeal linked with Floyd Landis.
Bruce Goldberger claimed during an interview that the WADA used inadequate ways and violated rights of sportspersons in order to reach the success in anti-doping programs.
As for Floyd Landis, he lost his appeal and acknowledged that he had taken steroids, EPO and several other related medicines.
No one can be sure which results will be achieved by Roger Clemens. Will the federal prosecutors prove that he has lied before the Congress? Will he admit to using forbidden preparations? Or will be the results contrary?

Can lack of changes in physical appearance of Roger Clemens prove that he hasn’t used steroids?

It is known by each baseball fan that Roger Clemens is accused in obstruction of justice. It is said that he has lied before Congress about administration of steroids and HGH.
Rusty Hardin noticed that there was no any difference in physical appearance of Roger Clemens before, during and after his trainings with the coach Brian McNamee. He affirmed that this aspect was a proof that Roger Clemens hadn’t taken steroids and other related medications.
Enhancement of muscle mass is commonly utilized by federal prosecutors as proof that an athlete takes steroids or/and other performance-enhancing drugs. But this tendency was not utilized during the governmental case against Roger Clemens. Nobody could claim that Roger Clemens’ muscles manifested that he had applied steroids and HGH. It is one of differences between the cases against Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds.
When it comes to the governmental case against Barry Bonds, feds called numerous persons in the trial who were able to testify that anabolic steroids promoted evidential changes in physique of this athlete. They affirmed that application of steroids led to increase of muscle size, enhanced size of the head and testicular atrophy in Barry Bonds.
Thus, Rusty Hardin provided 4 photos of Roger Clemens. The pictures displayed physique of Roger Clemens, including the time when Clemens was working with the trainer Brian McNamee. Hardin noticed that the pictures manifested that there was no difference in physical changes that could manifest that he used steroids and HGH.
The attorney Rusty Hardin claimed that the photos displayed just the process of ageing. The masseur Cheryl Redfern also claimed that she didn’t observe any changes in physical appearance of Roger Clemens. Roger Clemens had neither back acne, nor abnormal development of breast tissue, nor dramatically increased muscles.
The former Major League Baseball player Phil Garner also confirmed that there were not any essential changes in physical appearance and performance of Roger Clemens during working with the coach Brian McNamee.
Steve Durham, the Assistant US Attorney tried to discredit the affirmation about lack of physical changes in Roger Clemens during the cross-examination of Garner. He claimed that while several steroids enhanced muscle size, others didn’t induce increasing muscles. So, he confirmed that the photos could display nothing about steroid use.
Feds want to take advantages in both cases: in the case against Roger Clemens and in that against Barry Bonds. While they claim that physical changes in Barry Bonds manifest that he has utilized steroids, lack of physical changes in Roger Clemens doesn’t prove that he hasn’t used steroids.

Anders Breivik took steroids and dietary supplements in order to be able to commit massacre

Anders Behring Breivik is a murderer of over 70 persons. He bombed buildings of government in Oslo (Norway). Teenagers of the Workers’ Youth League camp were also murdered by him on Utoya island in July 2011.
Anders Behring Breivik trained for the massacre substantially. He said that he had utilized steroid cycles.  Since he utilized steroids, these medications were blamed for the massacre by numerous journalists.
But what did experts claim? Joerge Moerland, a professor of forensic toxicology at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, contested affirmations of these journalists. The specialist Moerland noted that anabolic steroids should not be demonized for the crimes. But the toxicologist acknowledged that it was impossible to exclude that these medications could cause aggressiveness in the murderer.
An “ECA stack”, a combination of caffeine, aspirin and ephedrine, was also used by the killer. Actually, this stack is ordinarily used by bodybuilders in order to burn fat and stimulate themselves for trainings. It was set that Breivik has administered great quantity of the stack. The quantity taken by him was by 50 % greater than it is allowed under European Union’s rules.
The toxicologist Moerland claimed that Breivik’s behavior was more substantially influenced by the ECA than steroids. He pointed out that ephedrine might lead to desire to be implicated in dangerous activities. Moerland claimed that the murderer’s central nervous system had been affected by ephedrine.
Nevertheless, the forensic toxicologist Moerland mentioned about limitation of the ECA’ impact. The amount of caffeine consumed by the murderer was equal to approximately 5 cups of coffee. So, the quantity was not enough enhanced in order to be blamed for the massacre.
Anders Breivik described his usage of steroids and dietary supplements in details. He also recommended other persons ordering steroids at Alinshop.
The killer noted that he didn’t like Dianabol because it could cause fluid retention. He explained that Dianabol could add more body weight than users could carry. According to his affirmations, about 50 % of the mass acquired because of this drug is water retention. The criminal chose some stacks that were appropriate for his purposes.
Breivik studied effects of different steroids in order to choose those who were suitable for his needs. He claimed that Testosterone Propionate was better than Dianabol. He also suggested that combinations of Dianabol with Aromasin or usage of Dianabol followed by administration of Winstrol could benefit substantially.
Thus, Breivik prepared for the massacre scrupulously. He spent time in order to choose and plan steroid cycles and application of dietary supplements. He also thought over each detail related to attacks and murders.
However several individuals thought that Anders Breivik was legally insane, it’s wrong. It is obvious that the murders have been committed consciously.

Motorcycle gangs are more closely linked with psychostimulants than with steroids

The newspaper “The Sydney Morning Herald” reports that outlaw motorcycle gangs should be blamed for spread of illegal administration of steroids in Australia. The gangs have significant profit and reduced risks.
Nick Bingham, a detective, has noted that New South Wales Police doesn’t focus on investigation connected with intake of steroids but anabolic steroids become targets of investigations, when outlaw motorcycle gangs are arrested for violation of other laws.
According to Nick Bingham, although New South Wales police officers don’t raid houses of gangs for steroids, they find them, when searches for weapons and psychoactive drugs are conducted.
The detective Nick Bingham has noted that they commonly seize such amounts of steroids from motorcycle gangs that are only for personal usage. Quantities of other drugs which are usually found in possession of gangs are much greater than those of steroids.
Bingham has claimed that criminals like administering anabolic steroids in order to get threatening muscular physiques. They want to look big and strong.
Although Nick Bingham is sure that gangs have steroids only for personal application, the newspaper “The Sydney Morning Herald” presents opposite point of view. It is reported that motorcycle gangs are involved in smuggling of steroids.
Although gyms are claimed to be the main sources of steroids for bodybuilders, it is confirmed by “The Sydney Morning Herald” that several gyms have close connections with motorcycle gangs. The Herald claims that numerous seizures made by the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service are connected directly with distribution of steroids by motorcycle gangs.
According to statements of Australian Customs, mail seizures of steroids have been increased essentially in comparison with past years.
Over 2, 000 seizures were made in 2009-2010 and over 5, 000 seizures of steroids were recorded in 2010-2011.
Lots of seizures were connected with personal usage of steroids smuggled by bodybuilders.

David Segui discussed about steroid use by Roger Clemens with Brian McNamee

Federal prosecutors want the judge Reggie Walton to permit the former Major League Baseball player David Segui to provide testimony in the trial linked with the case of Roger Clemens. This person had a conversation with Brian McNamee, the former trainer of Roger Clemens. It is confirmed that they have discussed about administration of steroids by the former celebrated baseball player.
Brain McNamee was called to testify against Roger Clemens because he turned out to be the only person that had direct knowledge about usage of steroids and other related medicines by Clemens. Moreover, he kept injection equipment: vials, syringes and needles that were allegedly mixed with the blood of Roger Clemens. DNA analysis was conducted in order to confirm whether it was Clemens’ blood.
Rusty Hardin, a defense attorney for Roger Clemens, confirmed that the steroid evidence was fabricated by Brian McNamee after the questioning by federal prosecutors.
But prosecutors confirmed that David Segui told them that Brian McNamee said that he stored some things as evidence of steroid use by certain players in 2001. It was several years before the former trainer of Roger Clemens became the target of the investigation.
Information presented by David Segui to federal prosecutors differed completely from that presented to the sportswriter Jim Baumbach. His affirmations presented to Jim Baumbach were published in an article in 2008. According to that article, David Segui claimed that he had never spoken about steroids with his friend Brian McNamee.
David Segui found out about involvement of Brian McNamee into the case of Roger Clemens just in 2006, when he read a piece of news in the Los Angeles Times.
Segui was quite open in his discussions about personal intake of steroids and other related medications. He said that he had been asked many times by players of the Major League Baseball whether he had applied steroids. This person admitted that he had used them. But David Segui affirmed that he had never spoken about usage of steroids with Brian McNamee.
Segui supported McNamee’s decision to save evidence about intake of forbidden products by his clients. According to David Segui, it is a correct decision because sometimes innocent persons are blamed but guilty individuals are covered. Thus, he could help to reveal the truth.
However federal prosecutors asked the judge Walton to permit Segui to testify in the trial linked with Roger Clemens, the judge didn’t announce his decision yet.

Fight between Andre Berto and Victor Ortiz will not take place

The professional boxer Andre Berto tested positive for Nandrolone. He was tested by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency (VADA).
He had to fight against Victor Ortiz on June 23, 2012 in Los Angeles. Andre Berto agreed to submit to random drug testing before the match. Both “A” and “B” urine samples indicated about administration of Nandrolone.
It was already the second time this month, when the VADA tested fighters and caught them applying steroids. The first boxer that tested positive this month due to tests conducted by the VADA was Lamont Peterson. He had to fight against Amir Khan. It is quite ironically that Peterson requested random blood and urine testing. A carbon isotope ratio test conducted by the VADA indicated that Peterson had testosterone of exogenous origin several weeks before the match.
Financial position of several companies suffered due to tests conducted by the VADA. For example, Golden Boy Promotions lost great potential profit due to positives of Lamont Peterson. It was estimated by Richard Schaeffer, the CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, that the company lost 250, 000 dollars.
The cancelation of the fight between Andre Berto and Victor Ortiz will probably not cost so much because another boxer will possibly replace Andre Berto and will fight against Ortiz.
As for the boxer Andre Berto, he didn’t explain why he tested positive. This boxer hired the attorney Howard Jacobs who would represent and defeat him.
Berto said that he had never applied steroids. So, he noted that he investigated with his attorney what could cause positives for steroids. The fighter Andre Berto concluded that he had never cheated; he succeeded in sport because of hard work and dedication.
The attorney Howard Jacobs represented numerous other sportspersons who turned out to be victims of contaminated nutritional supplements.
It is said that since the steroid Nandrolone has too long half life and it is detected easily, it is not widespread among those who dope. But it has been determined many times that several nutritional supplements contained the ingredient nandrolone that led to positives for steroids. But since sometimes not every compound is listed on the label, athletes become victims of cheating.

Nevada Athletic Commission: steroids cause performance-enhancing benefits, if only they are applied right before fights

The American fighter Chael Sonnen is allowed to administer anabolic steroids. The physician Timothy Trainor claimed that this sportsman actually had hypogonadism.
What does this disorder represent? Hypogonadism is related to insufficient production of the hormone testosterone. Doctors commonly prescribe hormone replacement therapy for treatment of this disorder.
The athlete Chael Sonnen has obtained a therapeutic use exemption (TUE). So, this fighter is allowed to take steroids for clinical purposes and fight against Anderson Silva at UFC 148 in July 2012.
According to instructions given by Chael Sonnen’s health care provider, he should apply injections of Testosterone Enanthate and Testosterone Cypionate twice per week. The measures which are indicated have not been discussed. But under rules of the Nevada Athletic Commission, blood serum levels of testosterone in Chael Sonnen should be within normal range on the morning after the match with Silva.
The doctor Trainor confirms that those that fight, having TUE, must be tested on the morning after the match to learn whether they have used something right before the competition.
Trainor believes that testosterone causes performance-enhancing effects, if it is applied right before the fight. He confirms that injections must not be applied in the days before a fight to prevent high levels of testosterone.
But it seems that the NAC doesn’t know that steroids cause benefits connected with enhancement of performance, not only if they are applied right before competitions. Administration of steroids influences essentially on performance during workouts before competitions. And the benefits remain even after sportspersons discontinue utilizing them.
Chael Sonnen had elevated testosterone levels at UFC 117. He noted that he had tested positive because he had been on TRT.  He appealed his suspension and it was reduced to 6 months from one year. But he didn’t have any TUE that time.

Doping didn’t destroy reputation of Galabin Boevski

Galabin Boevski, a Bulgarian weightlifter, World Champion and Olympic Champion, went to nine months in prison because of illicit international drug trade. This sportsperson was arrested in October 2011 at the Guarulhos International Airport in Brazil after he tried to board the plane with eight kg of cocaine. Galabin Boevski was led to Bulgaria. Cocaine was estimated. It could be sold at the price of 500, 000 dollars on the streets in European countries.
Galabin Boevski is a well-known sportsman in Bulgaria. He is claimed to be one of the most famous weightlifters in this country.
First he was caught taking steroids in 1995. Undoubtedly, he was suspended.
Then this sportsman was caught taking banned preparations in 2004. It was the second time when he violated doping rules. Actually, Galabin Boevski didn’t test positive for any banned preparations. But anti-doping officials defined that he didn’t provide own urine. The urine that was provided by this athlete belonged to another individual. As a result, Galabin Boevski was sentenced to 8-year suspension. During serving the suspension he was caught smuggling cocaine.
Boevski became well-known due to his success in weightlifting. This sportsman won gold medals at several competitions: at the 1999 World Weightlifting Championships in Athens, the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney and the 2001 World Weightlifting Championships in Antalya.
At the 2003 World Championships in Vancouver this sportsperson and his teammates from Bulgaria provided urine samples which belonged to another individual. It was defined by anti-doping officials that the three urine samples were produced by one person. These athletes were sentenced to suspensions. Boevski appealed the suspension but it was unsuccessful.
Boevski broke several world records at various competitions. He held 3 world records. His best lifts were following: a 162, 5 kg snatch, 196, 5 kg clean and jerk and a 357, 5 kg of two lifts at the 1999 Championships.
It is strange but this athlete’s reputation was not destroyed in Bulgaria. He used his status of celebrity in sports in order to establish a Technogym fitness center in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. The center was named Atama Wellness and Spa.
Moreover, Maria Isabel do Prado, the Brazilian judge, affirmed that Boevski applied also his status of celebrity in sports in order to traffic the narcotic cocaine. She also noted that this sportsperson used the participation of his daughter in a Brazilian tennis tournament to hide his illegal deals connected with smuggling of the narcotic.
The weightlifter Boevski decided to appeal the conviction.

Andy Pettitte at court related to Roger Clemens: I don’t know

The desire of the federal government related to the case of Roger Clemens was following: they desired to prove that this athlete had lied before the Congress about intake of anabolic steroids and HGH. But the government was not able to reach this goal. It was expected that Andy Pettitte would claim that Roger Clemens had acknowledged that he had taken the forbidden medications during a conversation in 1999 or in 2000. But Pettitte shocked the prosecutors. This man claimed that he couldn’t confirm that Roger Clemens had used steroids and HGH because he was not sure.
Actually, why were the prosecutors shocked by the affirmation of Andy Pettittte? This man swore for the 2008 Congressional hearings on administration of steroids in the Major League Baseball that Roger Clemens admitted to usage of HGH. But he presented opposite testimony at the Barrett Prettyman Federal Courthouse in Washington.
Michael Attanasio, a defense attorney for Roger Clemens, asked Andy Pettitte whether he can claim that he is 50-50 that he has misunderstood Roger Clemens about HGH. Andy Pettitte answered that he is indeed 50-50 about this aspect.
When Clemens’ prosecutors heard the answer of Andy Pettitte, they didn’t know what to do. They stated that Andy Pettitte never answered this way, when he was asked several times.
The U. S. District Court Judge Reggie Walton claimed that he understood that Andy Pettitte’s answer has been conflicted. In fact, his statement was following: “I don’t know”.
The attorneys for Roger Clemens utilized the moment of the prosecutors’ confusion. They asked the judge to ignore Andy Pettitte’s testimony because he was 50-50. According to the attorneys, he probably misunderstood the athlete Roger Clemens or he forgot the details of the conversation.
The government has stated that the jury still allows taking in consideration the affirmation of Andy Pettitte. ASUSA Dunham has claimed that under federal rules jury is allowed to choose which testimony to believe. This person hopes that the jury will brush aside the testimony which doesn’t support the government.
So, the testimony provided by Andy Pettitte and his wife led to problems. Testimonies of his wife during the first trial led to the declaration of a mistrial by the judge Walton.
Pettitte confirms that he is Roger Clemens’ friend. Clemens must also claim that they are friends after the last testimony of Andy Pettitte.

Steroids are blamed for crimes committed by Cullen Mutrie

Police officials raided Cullen Mutrie’s house for a steroid investigation. This person shot five police officers at his home. As a result, the Greenland Police Chief Michael Maloney was killed; other four police officials were wounded. The next morning Cullen Mutrie and a woman were found dead.
It is suspected that Cullen Mutrie was taking steroids at the time of the shootout. Jane Young, the New Hampshire Associate Attorney General, stated that toxicology reports were waiting in order to find out whether metabolites of steroids were in the body of this man.
Police officers affirmed that Cullen Mutrie had been a muscular person. This man worked at Genetix Fitness in Seabrook. It was described that he was 6 feet 3 inches tall. Cullen Mutrie weighed 275 pounds. During a search which took place in July 2010 law enforcement officials found anabolic steroids at his home. The policeman Wayne Young found them in a coffee table. He said that he had observed a plastic bag with several vials. A vial was with powder; others contained solution. According to the labels, they were steroids.
The New Hampshire State Crime Lab analyzed the vials. It was confirmed that the vials contained Trenbolone Acetate, Sustanon 250, Boldenone Undecylenate and Nandrolone Decanoate.
The professor of kinesiology John Miller was asked whether a link between the criminal actions and aggressiveness due to anabolic steroids could present. The professor noted that it was plausible. But according to him, it is impossible to conclude that there was a direct link between intake of anabolic steroids and the shootout.
John Miller suggested that steroids that were on the black market were provided from legitimate pharmaceutical companies. But he has been mistaken because the majority of steroids that are offered for sales on the black market are manufactured in underground labs. It is even suspected that Mutrie produced steroids.
Since a link between crimes and usage of steroids is a controversial issue, not only police officials but also correspondents investigate the case linked with Cullen Mutrie.

Alistar Overeem’s appeal was unsuccessful

Alistar Overeem, a mixed martial artist, appealed his suspension which was received by him for usage of anabolic steroids on April 24, 2012. But he couldn’t win his appeal against members of NSAC. He forfeited his license for nine months. Then this fighter will be allowed to obtain it again.
This fighter acknowledged that he had applied injectable testosterone which was recommended him by his health care provider. Alistar Overeem utilized the strategy that was considered to be boring. He noticed that he had never applied anabolic steroids or other related medicines knowingly. He tried to make the NSAC believe that his injectable application of steroids was accidental.
The defense attorney for Alistar Overeem was David Chesnoff who has been experienced in representing prominent sportspeople.
David Chesnoff called the personal physician of Overeem to testify during the hearing. It was believed that Dr. Molina would testify in defense for this athlete. Testimonies of this physician were too miserable. The doctor Molina presented an explanation for recommendations of certain products that led to Overeem’s elevated testosterone: epitestosterone ratio.
The treating doctor of Alistar Overeem acknowledged that he prescribed and injected this fighter with a mixture of Toradol and Dexamethasone because he had an injury. In fact, these drugs are applied for anti-inflammatory purposes. But application of testosterone in case of injuries is not approved by the FDA.
It is suggested that the doctor Molina hasn’t informed this athlete that these drugs contain the anabolic steroid testosterone. But it is obviously that he has never asked about it.
So, testimonies of the physician Molina turned out to show lack of the evidence linked with clinical purposes for intake of banned preparations by Alistar Overeem. The doctor couldn’t present any reasonable explanation which could justify recommendations of Toradol and Dexamethasone to this person. Testimonies of the health care provider Molina worked against Alistar Overeem.
Actually, it became evident that Overeem was a victim of the doctor’s quack.
But it is possible to suggest that this strategy was designed by the defense attorney for this fighter.
Pat Lundval, a commissioner, was probably impressed by the defense of Overeem. She even referred to him as to a “smart guy”.
The members of the NSAC seemed to be convinced that Alistar Overeem has been actually a great guy but he has surrounded himself with such questionable individuals, as the health care provider Moline. They recommended him to find more qualified professionals in the future.
